Staying Safe And Avoiding The Coronavirus

With the coronavirus infection rate increasing rapidly, many countries have felt the effects of the pandemic.

Singapore as a whole has managed to keep a tight control over the situation.

But it is far from over, we all have a part to play in order to keep the virus from spreading.

As such, here are few tips to follow to ensure we stay safe and healthy.

Avoid Handshakes

You can switch to an alternative greeting like a fist bump or a slight bow instead.

Use Your Knuckle 

Avoid using your finger, instead use your knuckles to touch light switches. elevator buttons, etc. 

Open Doors With Your Elbow, Closed Fist Or Hip 

Do not grab the handle with your hand, especially on the toilet and office doors,

Instead, use your elbow, closed fist or your hips.

Also, when possible use a tissue on door knobs.

Wash Your Hands

Ensure that you wash your hands with soap/sanitiser for at least 20 seconds. 

We encourage you to use 60% or above alcohol-based hand sanitiser whenever you return home from any activity involving crowds.

Do Not Cough Into Your Palm/Hand. 

Always carry around a tissue packet to cough or sneeze into. 

Use your elbow if you don’t have a tissue available. 

Do take note that the clothing on your elbow can contain infectious viruses that can be passed on for up to a week or more.

Have A Bottle of Sanitiser At The Ready

Ensure a bottle of hand sanitiser is always available at key locations such as your home’s entrances, in your car or on your work desk.

Always sanitise your hands when you are in a situation where you are unable immediately wash your hands.
